Today’s post includes those releases and updates that have come out since April 12, 2021, including an update to version 4.4.5 of the Percona Distribution for MongoDB and the release of the new Percona Monitoring and Management 2.16.0, which brings Microsoft Azure Monitoring via a Technical Preview.
Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.4.5
On April 19, 2021, Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.4.5 was released. It is a collection of solutions to run and operate your MongoDB efficiently with the data being consistently backed up, consisting of the following components:
- Percona Server for MongoDB is a fully compatible open source, drop-in replacement for MongoDB.
- Percona Backup for MongoDB is a distributed, low-impact solution for achieving consistent backups of MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets.
This release of Percona Distribution for MongoDB is based on Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.5-7 and Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.4.1.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.5-7
Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.5-7 was released on April 19, 2021. It delivers high-performance and reliability to enterprises looking to achieve optimum performance, without being tied into an expensive proprietary software vendor relationship. Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.5-7 is based on MongoDB 4.4.5 Community Edition and does not include any additional changes.

Percona Monitoring and Management 2.16.0
On April 16, 2021, we released Percona Monitoring and Management 2.16.0, a free and open-source platform for managing and monitoring MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL performance. There are a lot of new features, improvements, and bug fixes in this release, all of which can be read in the release notes, but some highlights include the addition of Amazon RDS PostgreSQL monitoring, Azure Discovery and Node metrics extraction (the same level of support for Microsoft Azure Database as a Service (DBaaS) as we have for AWS’s DBaaS), Security Threat Tool scheduling, support for pg_stat_monitor 0.8, and the next stage of improvements in Integrated Alerting functionality of PMM to simplify the usage of the feature.
